PRECARE

48–72 Hours Before

  • Avoid alcohol and blood thinners (Advil, aspirin, etc.)

  • Stay well hydrated, this directly affects your skin quality

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning

1 Week Before

  • No chemical peels, retinols, or exfoliating treatments on the area

Day of Your Appointment

  • Eat a full meal beforehand (this helps with comfort + stability)

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area

  • Arrive with clean, lotion-free skin

  • Avoid caffeine if you’re sensitive (can increase bleeding)

Additional Notes

  • Do not shave the area yourself, we’ll handle that safely if needed

  • If you’re feeling sick, please reschedule

AFTERCARE

Fine line tattoos require extra care, because the lines are delicate, proper healing is key to maintaining detail and softness.

First 24 Hours

  • Keep your bandage on for the time recommended by your artist

  • If using Saniderm:Leave on for 24–72 hours (unless instructed otherwise)

  • If removing sooner:vWash gently with lukewarm water + fragrance-free soap
Pat dry with clean paper towel (no rubbing)

Days 2–7 (Healing Phase)

  • Wash 1–2x daily with gentle, fragrance-free soap

  • Apply a very thin layer of ointment (A + D ointment, aquaphor or coconut oil ) for the first few days

  • Switch to a light, fragrance-free lotion after ~3–4 days

Avoid:

  • Over-moisturizing (this can blur fine lines)

  • Picking, scratching, or peeling

  • Tight or abrasive clothing over the area

Days 7–14 (Peeling Phase)

  • Light flaking and peeling is normal

  • Continue light moisturizing

  • Let skin shed naturally, do not interfere

2–4 Weeks (Settling Phase)

  • Tattoo may look slightly faded or cloudy—this is normal

  • Skin is still healing beneath the surface

  • Final results appear once fully settled
