Caring For Your New Tattoo

Unsure how to care for your new ink?

Read below to understand the do's and don'ts of your new tattoos.

Keep It Clean

When caring for a new tattoo, keeping it clean is one of the most important parts. Clean your hands and then wash your ink gently with antibacterial soap.

Anytime replacing your Saniderm, make sure to wash completely and pat dry before putting on the fresh one.

Saniderm or Ointments?

After your tattoo is finished, we put on Saniderm which essentially is a breathable, waterproof tattoo bandage. This will stay on between 8-24 hours, and then reapply the next one which will stay on for up to 7 days.

If you choose not to use the Saniderm for that long, you can replace it with things like coconut oil or A+D as needed.

Stay Out of the Sun

During the healing process, it is important to stay out of the sun. Your tattoo is more prone to fading when exposed to the sun.

Once healed, applying sunscreen will improve the longevity of your tattoos and keep them looking fresh.

No Scratching!

While your tattoo is healing, it can get very itchy. For up to at least 10 days you should avoid itching/scratching your tattoos, no matter how tempting it may be.
